How to find a Reputable Gold, Silver, Diamond Jewelry and Coin Buyer in Jackson and why McDevitt Gold Buyers qualifies
Everywhere you look you probably see stores that proudly display the fact that they buy gold and sometimes even silver. Just because a store hangs a sign does not mean they are reputable or knowledgeable enough to buy your gold and diamond jewelry silver or coins. Many places will pay you a fraction of what your items are actually worth. Unless you are knowledgeable about factors related to pricing gold, you could be taken advantage of by these offers. Rather than falling prey to a scam, it’s important to know how to find a reputable buyer in Jackson.
When selecting someone to purchase your gold and silver items or other articles containing precious metals, credentials are important. I am fully licensed by the County of Jackson to purchase these items. This means that any jewelry items that I purchase which contain precious metals must be secured and held for 9 days. This serves two purposes which are both beneficial to you. First, a document describing the purchase is sent to law enforcement and compared with items which have been reported as stolen. Two, in case you have second thoughts, I will cancel the transaction and return your items. During my 25 years as a business owner in downtown Jackson, and later at Jackson Crossing, my staff and I contacted the police numerous times when we suspected that items presented to us were stolen. In fact, in the 1980’s, the Jackson Police Department gave us a citation for our commitment and cooperation. Since my store closed in 2005, I have continued to buy jewelry and coins in compliance with state laws and licensing requirements. I also am a lifetime member of the Michigan Numismatic Organization.

In 1971, I began buying coins when I worked for a local coin dealer. Since I closed my Jackson Crossing store, I have continued to buy coins, coin collections, gold, silver, diamonds and gold jewelry.

Find Out How Disputes are Handled
I am required to hold all jewelry purchases for 9 days according to Michigan law. I handle all disputes on a case-by-case basis. In the event that this involves jewelry, I may return jewelry after 9 days as long as funds are returned to me in cash or certified check. As for coins and gold there are no returns.
Find Out How the Selling Process Works
